How we work
Four steps, and then you arrive.
IDAM is a private travel office, not a booking site. Every journey is planned by people who know the places, and who will know you by the time you leave.
A conversation
Before we plan anything, we talk about how you like to travel: who is coming, the pace that suits you, what you eat, and what should never happen. It is usually a call, sometimes more than one, and it is where the journey really begins.
One written plan
You receive one document, with our thinking beside every choice: why this house and not the famous one, why three nights and not two, why the early flight is worth it. We revise it with you until it is right, then we hold everything.
Everything arranged
Your house. Your transport. Your meals. Your guides. Your private access. We book through hotels, guides and specialists we know, write your dietary needs and preferences into every supplier's brief, and handle visas, permits, insurance and currency. Every ticket, transfer and tip, handled.
With you throughout
Someone from our team is on call for the whole journey, on one number and not only in office hours, and there in person where it matters. If a flight moves or the weather turns, the plan changes without you having to make a single call. The only thing left is to arrive.
Where we began
Idam is the Tamil word for place. We began in Chennai; today our office is in Hyderabad, and we plan journeys around the world.

How far ahead should we get in touch?
Anywhere from a few weeks to a year. Around six months gives the best choice for most journeys, and some, such as the Golden Eagle Festival or a Galápagos yacht in peak season, are best planned a year ahead.
Where do you plan journeys?
Anywhere in the world, from remote places to great cities, including India, where our office is.
What happens if something goes wrong while we are away?
Call the number you were given. Someone from our team who knows your plan answers, and makes the changes for you.
How do people usually come to IDAM?
Most people come to us through a personal introduction, from someone who already travels with us.
