Choosing the yacht

A gulet or sailing yacht is slower and quieter, with the romance of sail. A motor yacht covers more water and leaves more time ashore. A catamaran is the steadiest at anchor, and a good choice for anyone new to the sea. On a week afloat, the cabin layout matters more than it does on land, so we look at who shares what before anything else.

Seasons at sea

The Mediterranean from May to October. Komodo in the dry months, roughly April to November, and Raja Ampat from October to April. The Maldives from November to April. The Galápagos all year, with calmer seas from December to May.

How it works

We match the yacht to the people on board: the cabins, the crew, the chef's cooking and how steady it is at sea. We plan the route with the captain around the weather and your pace, and write your dietary needs into the brief before you board.
