What we take care of
Family and multigenerational journeys
Three generations, one journey, and everyone at their own pace.
When it works
A grandparent's milestone birthday. A first safari for the children. A summer when everyone is finally free at once. The best family journeys keep people together at the table and give each of them room during the day.
What we plan for
- Rooms close to each other, but not on top of each other
- Two rhythms in one day: an early start for some, a slow morning for others, meeting for lunch
- Guides who are as good with a nine-year-old as with a historian
- Minimum ages checked before a place is recommended, such as fifteen for gorilla trekking in Uganda
- Food for every generation, however particular
- Steps, distances and transfers checked for anyone who walks less, and a doctor where altitude calls for it
How it works
We start with a conversation about each person travelling, not just the lead name on the booking. One written plan follows, with the thinking beside every choice, and one number reaches us for the whole journey. For larger families, we often take over a whole villa or lodge so everyone stays together.
Good to know
What ages do you plan for?
Every age. We check minimum ages for activities before recommending a place, and plan the pace around the youngest and the oldest travellers.
Is a villa better than a hotel for a large family?
Often. A whole villa or lodge keeps everyone together, with a shared table and private space, and no other guests to consider.
How do you manage different paces in one family?
We build two rhythms into the same day, with separate guides or vehicles where needed, and bring everyone back together for meals and the moments that matter.
Can grandparents with limited mobility come along?
Yes, with the right places. We check steps, distances and transfers in advance and tell you plainly where a place will be hard.
